Hugh and the rooster

As stated in the explanation, the point of intersection can be understood as the place where
they meet multiple ideas or paths, a metaphorical point of collision of different worlds - those within us
and those outside, between traditional and contemporary, virtual and physical, individual and collective.
The initial inspiration for this work was created in 2023.
"Hugh and the Chicken" photograph by photographer David Stewart, which, in my opinion, represents the conflict of anthropomorphism and zoomorphism, both on the internal and collective level, unusually well.
Anthropomorphism is the tendency to explain the behavior of animals in psychological terms obtained from the study of man, as well as the interpretation of divine,
natural and social driving forces by analogy with individual human characteristics. In its most general form, the attribution of human characteristics to animals, while zoomorphism is the description of humans with animal-like features or likenesses.
it can become a powerful tool for questioning dominant human self-concepts. In the collision of human and animal, in the psychological sense, it can mean a conflict between different instincts, desires or emotional reactions. In mystical or artistic contexts,
zoomorphism can be stronger because it is consistent with a mythology or philosophy that focuses on nature and animals.
The paper used the conceptual method of appropriation, comparison and quotation. The painting technique used in the work on this painting is the old technique of egg tempera on cardboard as another meeting point of traditional and contemporary.
Sikar's method is identical to that of the Renaissance, layers of azure and semi-transparent glazes are patiently and devotedly arranged on the sub-image. Opposite heads, eye to eye, are placed in the format of the golden section on the background of the galactic sky.
Placing the eyes in the same plane as the position of the eyes in the line of the golden ratio when viewed from the left or right side of the image enhances the charge.
In this way, the original intention of illustrating the conflict between traditional and modern in British society by contrasting the blasé and worn out member of the nobility against the young punk movement turns into a global conflict of neoliberalism embodied in management structures uniformed in expensive turtleneck sweaters and elemental, natural and primal.
That's how this conflict continues every day, every week since the beginning of the world.
"And God saw what he had done, and it was very good. So the evening, then the morning - the sixth day" (Genesis 1:31
